Service Opportunities

The mission of Notre Dame College is to educate a diverse population in the liberal arts for personal, professional, and global responsibility.  Campus Ministry invites students, faculty, and staff to live out the mission through service opportunities on campus, in the community, and across the globe.

Light of Hearts Villa

Join us in visiting our elderly friends at the Light of Hearts Villa in Bedford.  We go every other Monday evening for a couple of hours to assist with bingo, bowling, and other activities.  The residents love having our company!

Habitat for Humanity

We partner with Habitat in Birmingham, AL and right here in Cleveland in their efforts to build and restore houses for low-income families.  Here in Cleveland, we work at the ReStore where they sell building materials, appliances and furniture to fund their local work.  We visit the ReStore about once per month.

Kidz Club

Across the street from Notre Dame, Garfield Memorial Church has started a Kidz Club that provides a positive environment for kids every Wednesday after school.  Kids come to play basketball, work on their homework, and be mentored by volunteers. We need your help every Wednesday from 3-5 PM.

The Cleveland Catholic Worker

Be in community, share a meal, or play dominoes with your Cleveland neighbors at the Drop-In Center. The Drop-In Center is open to all people who are in need of a hot shower, meal, and community. The Center also hosts movie nights, wellness clinics, Spanish courses and more.

The Labre Project

Join area college students two Fridays a month to share food and friendship with the homeless of Cleveland.  Two vans transport students to the east or west side of Cleveland to deliver hot meals, clothes, and hygiene products as well as build friendships with all the people they meet.  Click here to express your interest in Labre.

Green Team

The Green Team is a campus wide initiative launched to show pride in the campus and surrounding communities through litter clean up, leaf collection and snow removal for older adults, and various restoration and beautification projects.  The Green Team works closely with the City of South Euclid as well as the Community Partnership on Aging

SND Summer Experience, June 20-22, 2016

Be a chaperone of student volunteers visiting Cleveland from SND schools nationwide. During this one week experience, student chaperones are welcomed to join student volunteers to learn about the charisma and work of the Sisters of Notre Dame through volunteering and fellowship.  All chaperones must be Virtus trained.  Email Ted, tsteiner@ndc.edu for more information.
