Service

Service Opportunities

The mission of Notre Dame College is to educate a diverse population in the liberal arts for personal, professional, and global responsibility. Campus Ministry invites students, faculty, and staff to live out the mission through service opportunities on campus, in the community, and across the globe.

* Service is limited at this time, but we are still maintaining relationships with our valued partners, and finding news ways to serve our community! If you would like to get involved in service, please fill out this interest form or email Anita (ayoder@ndc.edu). *

Light of Hearts Villa

Join us in visiting our elderly friends at Light of Hearts Villa in Bedford. We play games and chat for about an hour. The residents love having our company!

Salvation Army Learning Zone

Once a week we go to the new Salvation Army building in East Cleveland. We help kids with homework, play in the gym, and support this growing ministry in an underserved community.

Kidz Club at Garfield Memorial Church

Just down the road from Notre Dame, Garfield Memorial Church runs a Kidz Club that provides a positive environment for kids every Wednesday after school. Kids come to play basketball, work on their homework, and be mentored by volunteers.

Catholic Worker Drop-In Center

Throughout the semester, students go to Cleveland’s west side to be with people from the streets. Play games, eat a simple meal, and hear people’s stories.

Other Opportunities

Other opportunities include food distribution for local seniors at the Community Partnership on Aging, tutoring at the South Euclid Library, or helping serve a community meal at nearby Church of the Good Shepherd. Or, you can organize your own service project!

SND Summer Experience

Be a chaperone of student volunteers visiting Cleveland from Sisters of Notre Dame (SND) schools nationwide. During this four-day experience, college student chaperones join high school volunteers to learn about and experience the mission of the Sisters of Notre Dame. All chaperones must be VIRTUS trained. Email Anita (ayoder@ndc.edu) for more information.
