The Enterprise Development Center at Notre Dame College
Where Preparation Meets Opportunity
The Enterprise Development Center at Notre Dame College (EDC) represents an innovative approach to creating academic and experiential learning opportunities for students, while supporting Northeast Ohio’s startups and small businesses.
By partnering with community and funding partners, the EDC promotes entrepreneurial thinking—a tenant of Notre Dame’s president, among others—and provides an interdisciplinary internship program that offers students studying in all subject areas the:
- Possibilities for paid work experience
- Chances to earn class credit
- Options to develop professional networks
All to help them develop the skills needed for future career success
The EDC provides eligible entrepreneurs with accepted student interns who are trained and work at no cost. The interns serve in the subject areas business owners have identified as most needed to launch their new ventures, including graphic design, marketing and development.
All to help them establish the foundation needed for sustainable, successful enterprises
The EDC already has several student and startup success stories in just its first year. The center’s director is Bill Leamon, professor of entrepreneurship at the College.
