Every foundation begins by laying the first brick.
For Notre Dame College, our foundation began with a letter from Mother Mary Cecilia Romen to Bishop Joseph Schrembs on March 26, 1922, asking permission to start a college for women. Her response to the need for higher education opportunities for women paved the way for 100 years of accessible, quality education in the Greater Cleveland area.
“Paying for college is no easy feat, but with your support I will be able to become the best nurse I can be. Thank you for taking an interest in my future.”
“I chose NDC because it is a small school, and being on the NDC cheerleading team, it radiates friendly energy. I love how tight-knit everyone is and that the professors are friendly and eager to help! After I graduate, I plan to be a Sports Medicine Physician or an Athletic Trainer.”
“If I hadn’t received the scholarship, I don’t think I would have been able to attend NDC this fall. Due to your generosity, I am able to reach my potential graduation date of 2026.”
“I received first honors throughout high school and maintained a 4.1 GPA. Thanks to your scholarship, I can strive to maintain a good GPA throughout college without worrying financially at NDC.”
Today, over 90% of Notre Dame College students receive institutional financial aid to make higher education accessible. Please join us in making these foundational moments possible for the next generation. Our goal is 1,922 donations of $1,922.00, which will amount to more than $3.5M in scholarship funds. From the founding moment to the present moment, every piece of the foundation makes us stronger. Help us transform the world, one student at a time.
