Notre Dame College offers affordable, individualized opportunities for students to study abroad for a summer, a semester or a year in more than 50 cities in nearly 30 countries on every continent around the world.

The College works with the University Study Abroad Consortium (USAC), a nonprofit, education-based service with a commitment to making its programs accessible to those with financial need. Like the College, USAC helps to provide students with scholarships and access to other means of financing study abroad and minimizes program fees.

Notre Dame students can choose among study abroad programs that feature small class sizes and a wide range of courses, with many disciplines taught in English. In addition to coursework on campus, abroad experiences may include service learning opportunities, area field trips and tours, even cultural and sporting activities in host countries.

These programs include: Semester at Sea, International Immersions.

Enrolled students at Notre Dame also have access to in-person, one-on-one academic advising sessions to set up and succeed in all aspects of their study abroad experiences.

Notre Dame provides personal attention to those interested in studying abroad through an academic affairs liaison who assists students as they plan for their experiences. The liaison coordinates with other departments on campus to help each student apply financial aid and scholarships to the abroad program and to ensure credits from the host institution transfer toward degree requirements.

In ongoing sessions with the liaison, students also prepare to connect with on-site assistance at the college in their host country and arrange for a smooth transition back to campus following their study abroad.

The deadline to apply to study abroad for a summer, fall semester or entire year is February 1. The deadline to apply for a spring semester abroad is September 1.

Enrolled students at Notre Dame interested in an abroad experience are encouraged to start the planning process at least three months prior to the intended application deadline.

Current students interested in study abroad, contact Tabitha Meeks at tjmeeks@ndc.edu.
