The College hosted about 100 company owners and city officials for a South Euclid Business Appreciation Mixer in its Falcons’ Nest student center. The event showcased appetizers and dessert from area restaurants and beer and wine tastings from local establishments.
In addition to providing opportunities for networking and idea generation, the program allowed the College to show its gratitude to South Euclid companies and to communicate, along with customers and civic leaders, the value of a robust home business community.
Notre Dame is among the largest employers in its college town of South Euclid in Northeast Ohio and partners with the city on several programs, including a community garden, service activities, and concert series, among others.
The business mixer was free and open to all businesses in South Euclid. The event was sponsored by the community development center One South Euclid and the Heights-Hillcrest Regional Chamber of Commerce, in addition to the city.
The event also opened the Notre Dame Falcons’ Nest to the community. The College’s bright entertainment space for students, includes games, large screen televisions and several areas for fellowship.
South Euclid businesses with their food on display during the mixer included 4 Bistro, Engle’s, Chelo’s, Mr. Chicken, Marco’s Pizza and Nothing Bundt Cakes. Samples of beer from Black Forest and spirits from 2 You Wines also were provided along with other refreshments.
