Notre Dame College is pleased to announce the creation of the Sam Miller Centennial Scholarship Fund.

The $250,000 gift will continue our commitment to recruiting and retaining students who would, but for the grace of the Samuel H. and Maria Miller Foundation, be unable to attend NDC.

A $50,000 portion of the new fund will immediately help to alleviate the debts of previous scholarship awardees, while the balance of $200,000 will provide financial assistance to students kicking off Notre Dame’s second century.

Another student, X.A., echoed those sentiments, “I didn’t know if I was going to able to return for another semester, but thanks to you… I’ll be able to continue to learn and evolve…”

When the College was founded 100 years ago, the Sisters of Notre Dame were intentional in providing an education to those least likely to aspire to one. The College maintains that tradition today, serving the most financially at-risk undergraduate population—first generation students and those generally under-represented in higher education.

Said P.H., one student recipient, “This gift is helping me stay enrolled because I honestly didn’t know if I was coming back this semester due to my outstanding balance.   Thanks to you (the Miller scholarship), I can finally register for my classes this fall.”

Scholarship gifts, such as those of the Samuel H. and Maria Miller Foundation, allow Notre Dame College to continue its mission by providing opportunities for a private, liberal arts education to its most-deserving students.
