Notre Dame College has named John Galovic, Ed.D., interim President of the College to succeed Thomas Kruczek effective May 13, 2019.
The College also named Jack Myslenski to the position of Senior Advisor and Board Liaison.
Ann Marie Hawkins, chair of the Notre Dame Board of Trustees, stated: “This is a great fit of talents, abilities and experience. Both John and Jack are currently serving in key leadership roles at the College where each has had a profound understanding of its operational needs and strategic priorities.”
Galovic has been at Notre Dame since 2005. He is currently Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, an associate professor of education and teacher licensure officer. He previously served the College as interim Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs and interim Vice President of the Finn Center for Graduate, Adult and Professional Education. He also was the College’s interim Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Chair of the Division of Professional Education.
Prior to joining Notre Dame, Galovic served as Associate Superintendent for Business and Director of Secondary Education for the Willoughby-Eastlake (Ohio) City School District. In these positions, he directed all business and transportation functions of the school system, supervised all administrative and teaching staff and oversaw all curricular and extracurricular functions.
Galovic also served as Principal at the Willoughby-Eastlake Technical Center and Eastlake North High School before stepping down to pursue his Doctorate in Educational Administration at the University of Akron. Throughout his career, he has managed a full complement of administrative, academic and athletic programs at the college, high school and middle school levels.
Myslenski is a retired senior executive at Parker-Hannifin Corp., where he held a number of key leadership positions for 35 years. He retired from Parker as an Executive Vice President and member of the office of the president in charge of worldwide marketing, sales, information technology and manufacturing services. He has a B.S degree in industrial technology, an Ohio teachers’ certificate and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University. Myslenski has a thorough understanding of Notre Dame where he has been a member of the board of trustees since 2013.
Board Chair Hawkins also expressed the College’s appreciation and gratitude for Kruczek’s leadership for the last five years.
