The Notre Dame College Abrahamic Center presents three “Dream & Do” lectures recognizing the College’s centennial celebration throughout fall 2022.

The Abrahamic Center “Make a Difference” series starts with an alumna appearance in September, continues with a presentation from a vSister of Notre Dame in October and culminates with the annual Abrahamic Distinguished Lecture in November.

All three programs are free and open to the public.

Jeanne Nealon, who graduated from Notre Dame in 1981, will share with the campus and wider communities her “Laces of Love” initiative on Wednesday, September 14, at 7 p.m. in the College’s Regina Auditorium.

Sr. Karita Ivancic, D.Min, Notre Dame retired associate professor of theology and also an alumna of the College, will discuss “Differences Speak” on Tuesday, October 11, at 7:30 p.m. in Regina Auditorium. She graduated from Notre Dame in 1971.

The centennial year Abrahamic Distinguished Lecture features Jamelle Bouie. He will present “Finding Your Voice” on Thursday, November 17, at 7:30 p.m., also in Regina Auditorium.

Bouie covers politics and history as a columnist for the New York Times and political analyst for CBS News. Previously, he served as a staff writer at The Daily Beast and was a fellow at The American Prospect and The Nation magazines. He also is known for his digital and analog photography.

The Notre Dame Abrahamic Center is a direct outgrowth of the innovative work of Notre Dame’s Tolerance Resource Center, which has provided significant opportunities for research, outreach and education on the Holocaust, anti-bias issues and diversity for nearly 15 years.

The initiative honors Abraham’s status as: patriarch of the three great monotheistic traditions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam; paragon of hospitality and welcoming the “Other;” and prophet of social justice and peace.
