The Falcons put together a solid 6-1-1 regular season record before rolling through the National Collegiate Rugby Division I Playoffs. Notre Dame defeated No. 5 ranked Siena in the quarterfinals, before besting No. 4 Indiana in the semifinals. In the finals, NDC took out No. 3 St. Bonaventure to win the NCR Division I National Championship. As a result, the Falcons had four players earn NCR All-America status and 10 players were named to the D1 Hot 100 by Goff Report.
