Professional Development

Welcome to the Office of Professional Development. Our department offers flexibly scheduled face-to-face and online courses covering a broad range of topics for those who want to attain or maintain certificates or licensure in a particular field, learn new job skills or simply want personal enrichment.

Coursework for Educators

Founded nearly 100 years ago, Notre Dame College has a long tradition of teacher education. The Sisters of Notre Dame were among the first in the U.S. to emphasize teaching licensure and leadership and to specialize in education of students experiencing poverty, diverse populations and those with learning differences.

We continually review and update our teacher education programs with new courses to strive to offer professional development that informs teachers about emerging technologies, pedagogies and interpersonal relationships that are so important to have when working with diverse students, families and administrators.

Notre Dame also offers individual courses ranging from using Google technology in classrooms to teaching special needs students and from decision-making based on measurement to conducting conversations on race in schools.
