PLANNED GIVING

Planned gifts empower you to make a significant impact on Notre Dame students while maintaining your financial flexibility. Through thoughtful planning, you can create a permanent legacy that honors your interests and lets them live on forever. A planned gift is one that is arranged during your life but comes to fruition after you pass.

Your gift will qualify you for membership in the Marian Legacy Society. It was founded in 1996 to recognize those who are committed to providing future generations with a values-based education at Notre Dame College.

There are many creative and flexible giving options to achieve your philanthropic priorities. Please call Culeen Carey at 216.373.5335 or via email at ccarey@ndc.edu to learn more.

BEQUEST BY WILL OR TRUST

The simplest way to make a lasting gift to the causes that are important to you during your lifetime is to create a bequest through your will or trust. By merely including information in your estate planning documents, you can quickly establish a gift that speaks to your charitable intentions. The bequest can be for a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or residue of the estate. Click here for sample language to include in your will or trust.

RETIREMENT PLAN

Naming Notre Dame College as a beneficiary or partial beneficiary of your retirement plan – such as IRA, Keogh, 401(k), and 403(b) – is an opportunity to avoid income and estate tax penalties while benefitting your community. These assets are the most heavily taxed; therefore, it may be more effective for you to transfer assets to a tax-exempt organization, such as Notre Dame College, and leave assets not subject to income tax to your heirs.

LIFE INSURANCE

Naming the Notre Dame College as a beneficiary or partial beneficiary of your life insurance policy, is another way to make a gift. To learn more, please contact Culeen Carey at 216.373.5335 or via email at ccarey@ndc.edu.

REAL ESTATE

If you don’t plan to leave your personal residence, vacation home or farm to family members, you could give the property at death to Notre Dame College while receiving current tax benefits. To learn more, please contact Culeen Carey at 216.373.5335 or via email at ccarey@ndc.edu.
