Baptism & Confirmation
Occasionally we have members of the NDC community who either want to join the Catholic Church or have not received the sacraments of initiation. We do not do infant baptisms at the College, because we are not a parish church that cares for families. However, if a student wishes to be baptized or confirmed in the Catholic faith, we have often been able to provide the preparation for these sacraments and help the student to receive them. Please contact Ted Steiner and he will help you to join the Church or receive the sacraments of initiation.
Weddings
Since 2001, when Notre Dame became a co-ed institution, there have been an increasing number of weddings held at the College. Both Regina and Christ the King Chapels are available for Christian weddings that conform to the Roman Catholic understanding of marriage. Couples are asked to make a modest donation to the chapel fund and are also responsible for handling all the details of the ceremony, including the presider, musicians, readings, decorations, and clean up. The Chapels will be reserved with the permission of the Director of Campus Ministry, Ted Steiner, and those responsible for the campus calendar. Weddings will not be booked at a time when other major events are happening on campus. The first step for interested couples is to contact Ted Steiner and then complete the Wedding Ceremony Reservation Form.
