The new president of Notre Dame College has been selected as a new leader for the Cleveland and Northeast Ohio communities.

Michael Pressimone, Ed.D., the 15th president of the College, has been named a member of the Leadership Cleveland Class of 2022 by the Cleveland Leadership Center. The Leadership Cleveland experience connects senior-level executives in Northeast Ohio to extend their transformational capacities and advance their influence throughout the greater Cleveland community.

Class members are “selected through a highly competitive application process. The deep candidate pool included many established leaders eager to build on their professional, civic, and leadership roles,” according to a statement from the center.

The 10-month Leadership Cleveland program focuses on deepening civic understanding and nurturing collaborative leadership. It also highlights the role of diversity and complex challenges in the area.

It begins with a retreat in September. A class trip in May 2022, to an area selected by the class, allows participants to learn from successful civic engagement efforts elsewhere in the country.

When the members graduate in June 2022 from Leadership Cleveland, they join a network of more than 2,500 leaders in the community who have completed the program in more than 40 years.

In addition to Pressimone, the 65 other members in the Class of 2022 represent a variety of public, private and nonprofit organizations, industries and sectors.

Other members of the Cleveland Leadership Class of 2022 include: the chief executive officers of the McGregor Foundation, the Veterans Affairs Northeast Ohio Healthcare System and Youth Opportunities Unlimited; chief operating officers of University Hospitals and the Cleveland Museum of Art; vice presidents of Eaton Corp; the chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer at KeyBank; and chief of staff for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, among others.
