Notre Dame College has been named among the top 25 in the country in two new national rankings of early childhood education degree programs.
The College’s accredited Bachelor of Arts in education offered completely online is rated No. 20 in the U.S. for quality, affordability and student success by AffordableColleges.com and No. 24 in the nation for academic excellence, return on investment and incidental benefit by TheBestSchools.org.
The accredited early childhood education license bachelor’s degree program at Notre Dame prepares students for pre-kindergarten through third-grade education with the knowledge, skills and dispositions to meet young children’s educational needs.
While in this field-based program, students relate their developing practice to the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession and to the standards set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the International Literacy Association, the International Dyslexia Association and the Ohio Department of Higher Education.
Notre Dame actually offers two licensure tracks for students enrolled in the online bachelor’s degree in education. In addition to early childhood education for pre-kindergarten through third-grade, the College also provides a specialization in mild to moderate intervention for kindergarten through 12th grade.
Both programs are available online and on campus, and both are accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.
These specialized licensures provide students with practical knowledge and expanded skill sets they can apply to classrooms, and all courses are taught by faculty members who are experts in the field and who present innovative pedagogy techniques as well as advise students on current trends in education.
Details about the early childhood education and other online degree offerings, including admissions requirements, are available online at onlineNotreDameCollege.edu.
Notre Dame’s online mild to moderate intervention specialist license prepares special education teachers to meet the educational needs of kindergarten through 12th-grade students in inclusion, resource and intervention classrooms.
This also is a field-based program in which students relate their practice to the Ohio Standards for Teaching Profession and the Council on Exceptional Children. The standards fall into three categories: teaching and learning, conditions for teaching and learning, and professional work.
