Scott Swain, athletics director at Notre Dame College, has been appointed to another NCAA leadership position.

Notre Dame College’s director of athletics has been named to the NCAA Division II Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) Board of Directors.

Scott Swain, athletic director at the College, has been appointed to represent the Mountain East Conference (MEC) on the D2 ADA board for the 2019-20 membership year. The ADA is administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.

Swain has been the MEC’s first representative to NCAA Division II Management Council and now is in his second term as the MEC’s chair of the Committee of Athletics Administrators.

“I am privileged to be selected as a member of the Board of Directors,” Swain said. “This provides Notre Dame and the Mountain East Conference the honor to work with an organization that is highly respected in higher education throughout the country. I am looking forward to taking part in the role the D2 ADA plays within the division’s governance.”

The D2 ADA is the first organization of its kind to provide educational and networking opportunities and enhancement of acceptable operating standards and ethics to establish the overall prestige and understanding of the profession of NCAA Division II athletics directors.

“Scott Swain has been an outstanding leader for the Mountain East Conference,” said Mountain East Conference Commissioner Reid Amos. “Scott will be an outstanding representative for the MEC as a member of the D2 ADA Board of Directors.”

The mission of the D2 ADA is “to empower its membership in their roles as directors of athletics.” The organization provides many services, including a collective voice for Division II athletics directors, a forum to discuss issues that impact the role of Division II athletics directors and a recognized relationship with other athletics director associations and NCAA leadership groups. The organization also provides professional resources, such as data, communications and conferences, for Division II athletics directors.
