Notre Dame College is now offering continued education for adult and traditional students and entrepreneurs with careers in real estate.

The College through its Office of Professional Development has added an agreement with RealEstateCE.com to help promote online renewal courses for Ohio real estate licensees. Programs include recertification for real estate brokers and real estate salespersons. Both are 30-hour continuing education licenses for less than $90, with each additional credit hour only $3.

Courses cover Ohio core law, ethics canons and disclosure. Options range from commercial and industrial sales and investing to small and alternate properties and include land management and contracts and leasing. Additional class offerings are planning and growing a real estate business; managing conflicts with tenants, clients and employees; and social media marketing, among others.

Notre Dame is not the developer of these online real estate courses but is providing a referral service. Information regarding course content, course technology and  how to complete the registration process is available online at RealEstateCE.com/a/notre-dame-college.

Real estate brokers are licensed to manage their own businesses. In addition to helping clients buy and sell properties, they may help rent or manage properties for a fee. Many operate a real estate office, handling business details and overseeing the work of sales agents.

Real estate sales agents must partner with brokers, often working on a contract basis, earning a portion of the commission from each property they sell.

Careers in the real estate industry garner a median pay of more than $50,000 a year, with a high of $58,000 for brokers and nearly $49,000 for sales agents, according to the National Bureau of Labor Statistics. Careers in real estate are expected to grow 6 percent, which is as fast as the national average, through 2026.
