A Conversation with Author Angela Johnson

The South Euclid-Lyndhurst Branch of Cuyahoga County Public Library will soon be the next stop for the traveling panel exhibit Telling A People’s Storythe first major museum exhibition devoted to the art found within the pages of African American children’s picture books, as part of a collaboration between the library and Notre Dame College.

Telling a People’s Story will be on view from March 9 through April 2, with plans for a virtual event led by local author Angela Johnson on Saturday, March 12 at 1:30 p.m.

Johnson is a poet and children’s author with more than forty books to her credit. She began her writing career with the publication of Tell Me a Story, Mama in 1989. She has won three Coretta Scott King Awards, The Michael Printz Award and The Margaret A. Edwards Award for significant and lasting contribution to young adult literature and was named a MacArthur Fellow in 2003.
