College Charters Business Honor Society, Inducts Seniors

Induct Seniors

Assistant Professor Estamarie Fairchild pins a student inducted into Sigma Beta Delta.

Notre Dame College has been awarded a chapter of a national business honor society and recognized 15 charter student members for their academic achievements.

The students, all graduating seniors and in the top 20 percent of their class, have been inducted into Sigma Beta Delta (SBD), which encourages and recognizes scholarship and accomplishment among students of business, management and administration.

Students also were required to participate in a major field test, an assessment tool of the international Educational Testing Service that measures the mastery of business principles, concepts and knowledge among business students graduating with bachelor’s degrees in the field.

The new SBD members received pins during their business classes from their instructors in the auspices of College leadership. The students later celebrated with a campus reception and were recognized during the College’s Honors Convocation.

In addition to the induction activities, the College hosted an installation event officially to celebrate the addition of SBD and a ceremony to tap new talent from among freshmen, sophomores and juniors from the Business Division who are leading their classes in academic rank.
