Notre Dame College Offers Nursing Advancement with Newly Accredited Online Graduate Degree

The Notre Dame College Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) program has been granted full accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

The graduate program in nursing is a 39-credit-hour degree offered in a distance learning format that includes a 120-hour clinical practicum designed to meet student learning needs in a selected area of nursing practice. Coursework may be completed full or part time in 26 months.

The Notre Dame M.S.N. prepares nurses for leadership roles in their institutions and communities and to be educators in clinical and academic settings. Graduates shape the future of nursing and the next generation of nurses.

As educators, nurses with an M.S.N. from Notre Dame create teaching-learning environments that promote student growth and preeminent professional practice, with the ultimate goal of supporting excellence in patient care and improved patient outcomes.

The College’s nurse educator curriculum features classes designed to prepare the graduate to teach in academic or hospital and clinical settings. Coursework covers nursing educational theory, instructional methods, curriculum development, assessment and evaluation and health policy and ethics.

Notre Dame is offering its nursing alumni and clinical adjunct faculty an exclusive opportunity to advance their education and career options with the nursing educator program. All students who have graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Notre Dame and meet admission requirements for the College's M.S.N. program are eligible to receive a 10 percent discount for fall 2018. This May, the College’s first graduating M.S.N. class included the first student to graduate from the College’s inaugural on-campus Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) program.
