The Abrahamic Center is presenting "Introduction to Islam" in a three-part series on Thursdays October 26, November 2 and November 9 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in The Great Room.  Session One, Understanding the Context, will discuss Prophet Abraham as patriarch of Muslims; pre-Islamic social, political and religious conditions and practices in Arabia; and the early Islamic era - revelations, persecutions of Muslims and migration to Medina. Session Two, on November 2, will discuss the major concepts of Islam; and Session Three will focus on specific aspects of Islam including Sharia Law, Sufism, Women, Violence and the importance of Sunnah of prophet Mohammad on November 9.
