Healthy Campus Information for Employees (Faculty and Staff)

All employees should report COVID-19 symptoms and/or positive test results to covid@ndc.edu regardless of if you are at work, on vacation or during a holiday break. You should not go to work in person; you should isolate yourself at home and work remotely if able. A member of the COVID-19 Response Team will work with you to determine when your isolation period will end. You must be cleared by the NDC COVID-19 Response Team to return to work.

Testing Positive for COVID-19

Notre Dame College will follow the most recent CDC guidelines for isolation. You must be cleared by the NDC COVID-19 Response Team to resume normal campus activity.

If you test positive for COVID-19 and have symptoms, you must:

  1. Isolate 5 days from the onset of symptoms
  2. You can return to normal campus activity on day 6 if symptoms have resolved, including no fever for over 24 hours. You must maintain 6-foot social distance to return to the classroom setting.
  3. If you are released from isolation on day 6, you must continue to wear a mask as usual campus policy, plus mask around others (off-campus) for 5 additional days.

You are not to do any tasks that would require you to remove your mask in public, such as eating in public areas i.e.: dining at the cafeteria.

If you test positive for COVID-19 and do not have symptoms, you must:

  1. Isolate 5 days from the date of the test.
  2. You can return to normal campus activity on day 6 if you are still symptom-free. You must maintain social distance to return to the classroom setting.
  3. When returning to campus activity, continue to wear a mask as usual on campus plus mask around others (off-campus) for 5 additional days.

You are to not do any tasks that would require you to remove your mask in public, such as eating in public areas i.e.: dining at the cafeteria.

Students that comply with the NDC COVID-19 protocol will be added to an excused student list. This list is accessible to instructors on the MyNDC website under employee resources. Effective communication is key to a successful semester. Please contact covid@ndc.edu with any questions and concerns.

Faculty are responsible to maintain communication with their students, especially those who are absent from class. If a faculty member is ill and cannot attend class, the faculty member must report to their division chair, Office of Academic Affairs (AcademicAffairs@ndc.edu) and to covid@ndc.edu.
