"Each
leg of the journey was as diverse as each situation that confronted
us was unique, but in each place we found something that helped
fill in the gaps of this history, and the picture of this activity
crystallized
.Israel was rich with information. This is where
I met most of the artist-survivors who were the most informative,
helpful, and generous of all.
As
we brush each other's lives with courtesy and respect for the hosts
in whose lands we are guests, the encounters can be enriching and
friends can be made. These meetings more importantly point out our
similarities rather than our differences, which in the end are perhaps
the only way to avert such a tragedy as a Holocaust."
