Parent Involvement

You may be wondering how, when, and if you should be involved in your student's life during their time at Notre Dame, and of course the answer is yes!  The College desires your involvement to help your student maintain a high level of support and confidence.   However, we also aim to allow your student to develop academically, professionally, and socially during this time and you may need to let them make their own decisions.  We have provided you with articles and recommended reading pertaining to college parent involvement in the hopes that you understand your student's need to explore their academic, professional, and social options.

Learning About Your Student

Beloit College in Wisconsin prepares an annual document entitled "The Mindset List", which gives insight into the traditional-aged incoming class of students.  This includes a fun list of pop culture normatives for the incoming class and may give you some information on how your student views the world.  Follow the link for the year your student entered Notre Dame to read more!
