Full-time Undergraduate Students Scholarships and Grants Available

Students who enroll for 12 or more credit hours per semester or term are considered full-time. The following assistance is available to full-time students at the time they are admitted to the college.

Notre Dame College Scholarships and Grants

Val/Sal Scholarship - This scholarship is awarded to select incoming full-time freshmen that are valedictorian or salutatorian of their high school class at the end of the first semester of their senior year. These scholarships are renewable for eight more semesters, provided the student maintains the minimum cumulative GPA listed below while in attendance at Notre Dame College.
End of 2nd semester 3.2
End of 4th semester 3.3
End of 6th semester and there after 3.4

Presidential Honors Scholarship – This scholarship is awarded to select incoming full-time freshmen that are high achieving academic students. These scholarships are renewable for eight semesters, provided the student achieves the required cumulative GPA.

End of 6th semester and there after 3.2

Notre Dame Grant - This grant may be awarded to incoming full-time freshmen students who possess a special talent or potential for enriching the campus atmosphere and /or possessing financial need.

Family Plan - Special family tuition rates are available to incoming full-time students who have a brother/sister/parent attending Notre Dame College as a full-time, matriculating, undergraduate student.

Athletic Grant—Awarded through the Athletic Department

Federal Financial Aid Programs

Federal Pell Grant
A Federal Pell Grant is awarded to undergraduate students who have high financial need and have not earned a bachelors or professional degree. As stated above, completion of the FAFSA is required to apply for this grant.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG)
Federal FSEOG funds are given to undergraduates with exceptional financial need. Priority is given to students who receive a Federal Pell Grant.

Federal Perkins Loan
A Federal Perkins Loan is a low-interest (5 percent) loan for undergraduate students with exceptional financial need. You must begin repaying this loan nine months after you graduate, leave school, or drop below half-time attendance.

Federal Stafford Loan
Stafford Loans are low interest loans available for both degree seeking undergraduate and graduate students. Repayment begins six months after you cease to attend on at least a half-time basis. Half-time enrollment is six undergraduate or graduate credits per semester at Notre Dame College.

Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan
Interest on the Subsidized Stafford Loan does not begin accruing until the six-month grace period ends. Interest on the Unsubsidized Stafford Loan does accrue while you are in school. You have the option to pay the interest as it accrues or you may defer paying the interest and let it accumulate.

Federal College Work Study Program
This program allows you to work on campus for a maximum of 17.5 hours per week and earn up to the amount of your work-study award for each term. These funds are awarded by semester and unearned funds from one semester may not be carried over to the next . These awards are based on need.

State of Ohio Financial Aid Programs

Ohio Instructional Grant/Ohio College Opportunity Grant
The Ohio Instructional Grant Program is based on financial need and does not require repayment at a later date. Application for this grant is made through the FAFSA.

Ohio Student Choice Grant
The Ohio Student Choice Grant is not a need based grant. There is no application required. Any Ohio resident attending a private college in Ohio on a full-time basis is eligible if they have not attended any college on a full-time basis before July 1, 1984.

Part-time Undergraduate Financial Aid

Students seeking their first undergraduate degrees who enroll between 6 and 11 credit hours during a semester or WECO term are considered part-time for financial aid purposes. The following financial aid is available to part-time undergraduate students:

Federal Pell Grant
A Federal Pell Grant is awarded to undergraduate students who have high financial need and have not earned a bachelors or professional degree. Completion of the FAFSA is required to apply for this grant.
Part time Ohio Instructional Grant
The State of Ohio provides a limited amount of funds to be awarded to Pell Grant recipients.

Federal Stafford Loan
Stafford Loans are low interest loans available for both degree seeking undergraduate and graduate students. Repayment begins six months after you cease to attend on at least a half-time basis. Half-time enrollment is six undergraduate or graduate credits per semester at Notre Dame College.

Teacher Licensure Program

Students who have been accepted into the post-undergraduate Teacher Certification/Licensure Program, are seeking their first certification or licensure and already have a bachelors degree are eligible to apply for:
