How to Apply for Financial Assistance
- Complete the admission process for Notre Dame College. You will not receive a financial aid award letter until your admission is complete.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This form is available through your high school guidance office or from the Notre Dame College Office of Admissions or Office of Student Financial Assistance. You can also download the FAFSA Express software from the Department of Education web page at: www.fafsa.ed.gov
- The Notre Dame College Federal School Code Number is 003085.
This number should be listed on page six (6) of the FAFSA to insure that Notre Dame will electronically receive the results of your application.
Send completed form to the address indicated on the application. The federal processor will take at least four weeks to process your application. After your application is processed, a Student Aid Report (SAR) will be mailed to you. Review this document for accuracy and keep it for your records. If you need to make corrections, the Notre Dame College Financial Aid Office will be glad to assist you. If you have listed Notre Dame College on your application, an electronic copy will be forwarded to the Notre Dame College Office of Student Financial Assistance.
- Some applicants are selected for a federal process called "Verification." If selected, you will need to provide copies of federal tax returns and additional documents to the Notre Dame College Financial Aid Office.
- Retain copies of federal tax returns, untaxed benefit statements and asset information that you used to complete your FAFSA. If you are selected for verification, Notre Dame College may request these documents.
- A financial aid award letter is issued to you once your file is complete. The award letter states types and amounts of aid for which you qualify at Notre Dame College and an estimated cost of education.
- Request a Special Circumstance Form from the Office of Student Financial Assistance if there are special circumstances that may affect your family's ability to pay for college. Please be aware that the completion of the form does not ensure a change in your eligibility.
