His nickname is ‘Pistol Pete' or ‘Pete’ for short. As the starting point guard for the men’s basketball team, he will be the first to say that to be successful you need to be someplace that will give you an opportunity. For him, that place was Notre Dame.

Despite his talent, Pete was not recruited by larger schools. “Because of my size, nobody wanted to take a chance on me. Coach is the only one who would give me a shot.”

The rest is history. In 2005 he was named All-American Mideast Conference North Freshman of the year and a member of the All-American Mideast Conference North Division Freshmen Team. In his sophomore year he received an NAIA All-American honorable mention. He is a two-time member of the All-American Mideast Conference North Division Team and a two-time American Mideast Conference Player of the Week.

Pete’s had success on the basketball court and also in the classroom, and he isn’t the only one who has noticed. “My parents love that I’m going here. They’re one of the biggest reasons I came here. They like that it’s small and the teachers go out of their way to help the students. They see the grades I’m bringing home and they think it’s a good fit for me.”

For Pete, Notre Dame College feels like home. “Even though my hometown is two hours away, I really love it here. When I go home I can’t wait to come back to school!”
