As a senior looking back at his time at Notre Dame, Dennis has an appreciation for the sacrifice and commitment that adult students must have to graduate. “I understand why some adults don’t finish their degree. It’s tough. But then I hear positive things, like how other students get jobs doing what they love, and that’s what motivates me.”

Dennis has faced many of the challenges that adult students typically deal with. Working full time and raising a family while going to college has required him to be creative with his schedule and his finances. However, his experience at Notre Dame College has made him appreciate the value of a small, private college experience. “They really make it easy for you here. My admissions counselor was a very positive person, and the financial aid office has been very helpful.”

As he completes his degree in Art Education, Dennis believes that college is a worthwhile investment of time, finances and effort. The payoff for him will be a satisfying career change. “It isn’t easy,” he admits, “but I know it will be worth it long term.”
