From 1970-88, the women’s volleyball program was sanctioned by the NAIA, but there were no district divisions. In 1988, the program was sanctioned in District 22 of the NAIA.
In 1978 and also from 1980-87, there was no women’s volleyball program at Notre Dame College. It began again with the 1988 season and continued through 1993 before being eliminated for the 1994 season. In 1995, the program started up again and has continued ever since.
In 1998, the program joined the American Mideast Conference in which all members belonged to one division. With the 2002 season, the AMC split into two divisions, with NDC moving into the North Division where it remains today.
