SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Notre Dame Volleyball team went 2-0 in an American Mideast Conference North Division tri-match with the Roberts Wesleyan Raiders and Point Park Pioneers on Saturday. The Falcons are now 14-9 overall and 6-1 in conference play.

The first match started out on a shaky note as NDC dropped the first game to the Raiders and then rebounded with three straight games (29-31, 30-23, 32-30, 30-25) for the victory. The Falcon win snapped a seven-game losing streak against the Raiders, ending a dry spell that dates back to 2004.

Debbie Beatty (Sr/Masillon, OH) lead the way defensively with 30 digs while Holli Reyna (Sr/Amarillo, TX) notched 29. On the attack, Hailey Martin (Fr/Euclid, OH) rallied with 14 kills.

In the second match of the day, the Falcons defeated Point Park 3-2 (30-19, 23-30, 28-30, 30-22, 15-7). The win marks the 12th consecutive victory over the Pioneers.

Beatty collected 32 digs against PPU, while Martin dished out 20 kills.

The Saturday sweep at home gives the Falcons seven victories in their last eight matches. With their 6-1 mark, NDC is now tied for first place in the AMC-North with Malone.

The Falcons' next match is slated for Wednesday, Oct. 10, when they visit Edinboro (PA).
