Aviator lands in South Euclid
Jones inks with NDC Softball

July 9: The Notre Dame Softball program today, announced the signing of Felisha Jones to a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Letter of Intent to continue her softball career at NDC.

Jones comes to College Road from Alliance, Ohio, where she was a four-year letterwinner for Alliance High School.

Jones also played basketball and soccer for the Aviators, earning a total of nine varsity letters. She plans on beginning classes at Notre Dame in the fall.

High-flying Falcons honored by South Euclid

June 24: The Mayor of South Euclid recognized two Notre Dame student-athletes at South Euclid City Hall on Monday evening. Mayor Georgeine Welo honored softball player Anna Ball (Jr/Bellville, OH) and track athlete April Wanzo (Sr/Cleveland, OH) for their accomplishments this past spring. 

The Notre Dame student-athletes represent a historic firsts for the College (Ball becoming the College's first-ever NAIA First Team All-American selection) and the completion of a stellar collegiate career (Wanzo earning seven All-American awards).  Both received framed proclamations in Council chambers after the proclamation was read aloud by Councilman Dr. David B. Miller.

“We’re very proud of both these young women,” said NDC Director of Athletics Sue Hlavacek. “They exemplify what we look for in student-athletes, and they uphold the ideals of the College.”

Falcons catch Alliance standout

June 10: The Notre Dame Softball program today, announced the signing of Nicole Spehar to a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Letter of Intent to play softball for the Falcons.

Spehar comes to Notre Dame from Alliance, Ohio, where she was a standout catcher for Marlington High School. The four-time letter winner for Head Coach Bill Koch was named First Team All-Northeastern Buckeye Conference (NBC) in 2008, her senior season. Spehar was named Second Team All-NBC as a junior and Honorable Mention All-NBC as a sophomore.
