SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio - The Notre Dame Women's Soccer team closed out the regular season with a match against Ursuline in American Mideast Conference (AMC) play on Tuesday. Notre Dame won, 1-0 in double overtime. NDC improves their record to 12-3-2 (6-1, AMC-N) while Ursuline falls to (5-12, 2-5)

With much of the first half being played in the midfield, neither team came up many prime scoring opportunities. NDC closed out the first 45 minutes with only four shots on goal while the Arrows tallied one. The second half saw much of the same with both teams combining for eleven shots total with Ursuline posting one shot on goal to NDC's two.

After a high intensity first overtime, NDC picked up their play. After each team volleyed for the ball in the midfield, the Falcons were able to capitalize and force a corner kick at the Arrow defensive end. Natalie Bernot (Jr/Mentor, OH) took the initial kick and the Falcons moved in for a header that Ursuline goalkeeper Keri Wolf (So/Avon, OH) punched out. Ann Brackman (Sr/Madison, OH) snuck into the box and took advantage of the rebound and found the back of the net with 6:58 remaining in the second overtime to seal the victory.

The Falcons notched 21 total shots while Ursuline tallied nine. Emilie LaMarche (Fr/Rockland, ONT) played all 113 minutes in goal for the Blue & Gold making three saves in the shutout. Wolf made five saves against the Falcons.

The Falcons begin post-season competition on Saturday, Oct. 27 in the first round of the AMC tournament.
