The NDC women’s soccer team evened out their conference record to 2-2 as they posted their first shutout of the season against visiting Point Park University 5-0. The Falcons dominated, with Freshman Midfielder Caley Prendergast scoring the first goal only four minutes into the match (assist by Stephanie Svoboda). Three minutes later Junior Forward Svoboda took the ball down the field herself and scored to put the Falcons up 2-0. Following a corner kick halfway through the first half, Sophomore Defender Jessica Skoien’s shot to goal went wide but Junior Midfielder Ann Brackman kicked it in for a 3-0 lead. Svoboda then took the ball down again and kicked it in the corner of the goal for a 4-0 Falcon halftime lead.
The second half began with another Falcon goal by Freshman Defender Holly Joseph. Several substitutions were made and the match ended with no additional scoring. NDC had 12 shots on goal and Junior Goalie Elyse Williamson had 4 saves. The women’s soccer team will face visiting Carlow University on Saturday at 1 p.m.
