Coming off a 5-2 victory over the Muskies of Muskingum College, the NDC Women’s Soccer Team came home ready to face a physical Baldwin Wallace team (4-2). Notre Dame came out strong and dominated play in the first half. Speed, teamwork and outstanding footwork from Caley Prendergast, Kelly Brown, Jessica Skoien, Lisa Good, Breanne Hunter and Stephanie Svoboda allowed the Falcons to score twice. BW scored first in the match but Svoboda quickly answered by taking the ball down the field and scoring. Again the Falcons attacked with a pass from Good to Svoboda who scored on her second shot to goal. NDC lead 2-1 at the half.
The match became increasingly physical in the second half. BW wasn’t ready to give up and scored a goal to even the match at 2-2. With just two minutes left in regulation, Svoboda kicked the ball across field to Breanne Hunter who headed it in. The final score NDC 3 BW 2. NDC had 16 shots on goal and goalie Melissa Lee had two saves. The team goes on the road with the men’s team to Daemen College this weekend.
