and Verizon Academic All-District Honors

South Euclid, OH - 04/03 - Notre Dame men's basketball player and Buena Vista graduate Niles Wadley has earned Second-Team American Mideast Conference Basketball Honors and Verizon Academic All-District Honors for his efforts this season.

Wadley, a senior guard and transfer from Delta College in Michigan, was the second player in Notre Dame men's basketball history to earn AMC Athletic Honors as he joins teammate Dave Hilborn on the squad.

In his second year with the Falcons, Wadley led the team in 3-point field goal percentage (.412) and free throw percentage (.824) and was second on the team in points with 406 for a 13.1/game average - primarily scoring from the 3-point range. He also contributed 40 assists, 36 steals, and 59 rebounds on the year.

In the AMC, Wadley ranked fourth in free throw percentage (.824), third in 3-point field goal percentage (.412), and eight in 3-point field goals made - converting 70 of 170 attempts on the year.

Wadley also excels in the classroom with a 3.945 GPA and he was rewarded this year by being named to the 2003 Verizon College Division Academic All-District IV Men's Basketball Team - an honor sponsored by CoSIDA based on both athletic and academic credentials.
