Notre Dame's Jeremy Kephart named two-time NAIA All-American

South Euclid, OH - December 2002 - Notre Dame College men's soccer player Jeremy Kephart, for the second straight season, has received NAIA All-American Honorable Mention Honors.

Kephart, a senior forward, led the team to a spot in the NAIA Regional quarterfinals and to the American Mideast Conference (AMC) North Division title in just its' second year in existence. Kephart finished the season leading the AMC in all major offensive statistical categories - goals scored (34), goals per game (1.79), and points per game (4.05) - all AMC records for a single season. He was also 10th in the AMC in assists per game with nine on the season for a .47 per game average.

A 1999 graduate of Parma High School, Kephart played for two seasons at Cuyahoga Community College where he was a two-time All-OCCAC, All-Region, and All-State first team selection. During his high school career, Kephart was a four-time Lake Erie League selection and a two-time All-State selection in soccer.

"Jeremy is a phenomenal soccer player and we were blessed to have him - he was integral part of our team and the best finisher I have ever coached, stated Coach McBride. His ability is such that I would not be at all surprised to see him compete at the next level." (Kephart has been entered in the 2003 USL "A" league draft set for tomorrow.)

During the season, the Falcons earned their first-ever National ranking and appearance in the NAIA post-season tournament. Head Coach, Michael McBride also was honored as the AMC North Division Coach of the Year.
