Medina's Michelle Costa to sign with Notre Dame College
South Euclid, OH - January 3, 2003 - Medina High School senior pitcher, Michelle Costa has accepted an athletic and academic scholarship to continue her fastpitch softball career and education at Notre Dame College next year.
With just two seasons under her belt, Costa has already earned MVP nods for the Pioneer Conference, the Medina County Gazette, and her team. Last season, Costa allowed only three runs in 14 Pioneer Conference games for a 0.31 ERA in the PC and finished the season with a 0.64 ERA overall.
"Michelle is a very high caliber player and I am ecstatic to have a player of her ability join the Falcon program," stated second-year Notre Dame Head Coach Ali Brian. "I fully expect her to be a major factor in taking this program to the next level as we build for the future success of the program."
Also an excellent student, Costa carries a 3.5 G.P.A. at Medina High School. Michelle is the daughter of Dave and Debbie Costa and she plans to major in early childhood education at Notre Dame.
