Michael McBride, men's soccer coach, named AMC "Coach of the Year"

South Euclid, OH - October 2, 2004 - Michael "Mac" McBride, who led Notre Dame College to the American Mideast Conference (AMC) North Division title, has been named the AMC North Division Coach of the Year for the 2002 season.

Hailing from Birmingham, England, McBride earned the honor after leading the second year Notre Dame team to the Title and a berth in the NAIA Regional Quarterfinals.

For the year, the Falcons finished at 15-4-2 overall and 7-0-1 in the AMC North. In addition, Mac coached the team to their first ever appearance in the NAIA National Polls.

McBride was selected to receive the award by other coaches in the AMC.

"To be recognized by my colleagues in this way is truly flattering," stated McBride.

This honor comes in just his second season in charge of NDC soccer team, and is the first such honor to be bestowed upon an NDC coach.

"I am really fortunate to work within a tremendously supportive environment. It's fantastic to be a part of such a progressive institution. This is an exciting time to be at Notre Dame College," Coach McBride concluded.
