Notre Dame College Women's Basketball Program Signs First Player for 2005-06
South Euclid, OH – November 18, 2004 - The Notre Dame College women's basketball program can rest easy if signing recruits for the upcoming season goes as well as today did for the Falcons.
Notre Dame signed area standout Megan Wydra from North Royalton High School to an NAIA Letter of Intent Thursday morning.
The 5'5" point guard is predicted to be one of the area's best in the position as she enters her senior season with the Lady Bears averaging 12 points, 5.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game. The two-time First-Team Pioneer Conference pick led the league in assists as a junior and was the most valuable player runner-up last season. She earned North Royalton's team MVP award after serving as captain and setting the school record for career assists. An obvious reason behind the Lady Bears' Pioneer Conference Heritage Division title in 2003-04, Wydra will try to lead the team to another title this season.
In addition to her basketball success, Wydra also earned first-team all-conference honors in soccer three consecutive seasons, while leading the team in scoring and assists each year.
