Volleyball Players Awarded Conference Honors
South Euclid, OH - November 14, 2003 - Three Notre Dame College volleyball players were selected to the All-American Mideast Conference North Division Team this season including Maria Delvecchio, Lindsay Heiden and Angela Serpetti.
Junior setter Delvecchio assisted her way into Notre Dame's record books with 1,545 assists this season. Her career total now stands at 1,655 assists, which places her third on the all-time assist list. She is also second in career digs with 1,044. This season, she was continuously ranked as one of the league's top seven setters, finishing at the number seven spot with an average of 10.23 assists per game.
Junior hitter Heiden moved into third place on the college's all-time kills list after smashing 360 this season, bringing her two-year total to 768. She also ranks third in career blocks with 256. She completed the season as the AMC's fifteenth ranked hitter with 3.16 kills per game and was the seventh leading blocker with 1.42 blocks per game.
Senior hitter Serpetti leaves her four-year career with the Falcons as the number one ranked player in career kills with 1,366 and digs with 1,871, while also ranking second in service aces with 177. She ended the year at number twelve in the conference for digs with a 4.0 per game average. This week, she was also selected as the News-Herald's Player of the Week.
The All-AMC team is voted on by the head volleyball coaches of the conference at the conclusion of each season.
