Basketball Program Picks Up Toledo Standout

South Euclid, OH – August 3, 2004 - The Notre Dame College men's basketball program gained Toledo, Ohio standout Jerome Pierce, Jr. when he signed an NAIA Letter of Intent to become a Falcon for the upcoming academic year.

Pierce was rated the eighth leading point guard in Ohio by the Prep Spotlight High School Basketball Recruiting Service and backed the ranking with 15.2 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game his senior season at Libbey High School.

The three-year varsity player earned First-Team All-City, First-Team All-Blade and Second-Team All-District for the Toledo City League Champions his final season with the cowboys.

“Notre Dame has a great coach, is a good school and has a good basketball team,” said Pierce of his decision to attend NDC.

He will major in sports management.
