Ontario, Canada's Sturrup Heading South to Play Baseball
South Euclid, OH – August 13, 2004 - Thursday afternoon Caleb Sturrup signed an NAIA Letter of Intent to play baseball for Notre Dame College. A native of Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, Sturrup attended Pickering College where he hit .340 with 30 RBI his senior season. The catcher received the Blackstock Award, the Widdington Award and the Ontario Scholar Stewards Award for his success in academics. He plans to major in business administration. “I liked the school size, the team and the atmosphere of the College,” said Sturrup of his decision to attend Notre Dame College. The Falcons begin their inaugural season of baseball with the 2004-05 academic year. They will compete within the North Division of the American Mideast Conference, which is the largest NAIA conference in the nation.
