Notre Dame College Signs Brookside's Steinbrink to Play Volleyball
South Euclid, OH – December 22, 2004 - It was a cold and dreary day Wednesday morning, but for head coach Mark Ridley, a glimse of sunshine shone through the clouds by way of Jamie Steinbrink.
The Brookside senior, who graduated with the conclusion of 2004, signed an NAIA Letter of Intent to play volleyball for the Falcons during the 2005-06 season. Steinbrink is not only the first signee of the season for Notre Dame, but she is also the first volleyball student-athlete to ever begin her collegiate course work a semester early.
A science and education major, she graduated a half year early and has enrolled in classes at Notre Dame for the spring semester.
While at Brookside, the 6'0" three-year varsity middle hitter earned such honors as team most valuable player, first-team all-county, second-team all-conference and second-team all-district, as well as the team coaches' award.
"Jamie will be a very powerful player for us," said Ridley, "She will definitely add to our offense." |
