Volleyball's Hulsemann is News-Herald Player of the Week

South Euclid, OH - September 9, 2003 - Notre Dame College volleyball player Jennifer Hulsemann made history this week when she was selected as the News-Herald Local College Player of the Week. Hulsemann is the first student athlete from the college to ever receive the honor.

The 6'1 junior middle hitter from Monroe, MI earned the accolade after recording 39 kills in five matches in the Wooster Kilt Classic this past weekend. The Falcons placed sixth in the tournament after defeating Pitt-Greensburg (30-14, 30-19, 30-22) and LaRoche (30-11, 30-18, 30-15). NDC lost to Wooster (30-17, 30-25, 31-29), Marietta (30-25, 30-25, 30-11) and Heidelberg (30-13, 30-28, 30-20).

For the season, Hulsemann is leading the Falcons in attack percentage with .244 in 30 games. She is also the team's leading blocker with 24 solo blocks and 13 block assists.
