Cross County's Hunter is Latest News-Herald Honoree

South Euclid, OH - September 16, 2003 - Notre Dame College Cross Country runner Jason Hunter was the most recent student athlete to be selected as the News-Herald Local College Player of the Week. He is also the first college runner to ever be recognized.

The freshman recently stepped up in the absence of NDC's two top runners and finished 19th out of 69 runners in the Notre Dame Invitational. Hunter posted a time of 32:08 on the Chardon course labeled a level four-out-of-five in difficulty to help the team finish fourth. So far this season, the Twinsburg native has consistently finished as one of the Falcon's top three runners in every meet.

Hunter will run next in the All-Catholic Invitational at the University of Notre Dame Saturday, September 19.
