Steadley and Blazetic are First Women’s Basketball Players Honored

South Euclid, OH – December 16, 2003 - Notre Dame College women’s basketball players Maggie Steadley and Amanda Blazetic are the first two Falcon female News-Herald Local College Players of the Week.

Junior point guard Steadley, daughter of Bob Steadley and Kathleen Steadley, was chosen as the November 25, 2003 honoree after averaging 14 points and 3.5 assists in two games. The Magnificat High School graduate shot 40 percent from the arc, connecting on six 3-pointers on her way to becoming a Greater Cleveland Classic All-Tournament selection.

Amanda Blazetic

Post player Blazetic, daughter of Thomas Blazetic and Linda Blazetic, was honored December 9, 2003. The Eastlake North High School graduate recorded two double doubles in three games combining for 68 points. Against Carlow College (PA) she had 32 points and 11 rebounds. The starter also shot 63 percent from the field and 81 percent from the free throw line for the three games.

Players of the Week are featured in the News-Herald on a weekly basis. One player is selected from all eligible women’s and men’s basketball playing candidates based on their performance from the previous week.
