Men's Basketball Snaps Streak
South Euclid, OH - November 17, 2003 - A 76-69 win against Indiana Wesleyan University in the Indiana Southeast Tournament this past Saturday snapped a 17-game losing streak for the Notre Dame College men's basketball program.
The win also ended a 13-game road-game losing streak for the Falcons.
First-year Head Coach Kevin Bille is glad the streak was stopped early in the season, "We've had some tough competition to start off with including NAIA fourteenth-ranked Shawnee State and twenty-seventh ranked Indiana Southeast. In both of those games we were within six points in the second half but were unable to stop the late runs. Against Indiana Wesleyan, we played well, stopped the late run and earned a much deserved win."
For the game, junior guard Dave Hilborn scored 17 points and had three steals. Sophomore forward Steve Pryor and senior center Will Bruce each added 14 points.
For the tournament, the Falcons finished third with a 1-1 record and Hilborn was selected to the all-tournament team for his two game, 38 point, six rebound and five steal performance.
Notre Dame is at home against Ohio Dominican University Tuesday, November 18 at 7:30 p.m.
