NDC Soccer Scores Wood

South Euclid, OH – June 15, 2005 - The championship men's soccer program at Notre Dame College recently added another scorer to their lineup in James "Woody" Wood of Barnsley, South Yorkshire, England.

As a striker, Wood was Barnsley Academy's leading scorer during the 2004-05 season.

"Woody is a proven goal scorer," said Notre Dame head coach Mac McBride, "In fact, in his last season, he was prolific. To score 27 goals in 20 games at that level is astounding. Players like this don't come along very often. I am absolutely thrilled he has decided to continue his career here at Notre Dame College."

Wood based his decision to travel to Cleveland on several factors. "It looks like a great school," said Wood, "but the main reason is for soccer. They are a good team with a good coach. I will relish the challenge."

He plans to major in sports/recreation management.
