Men's Soccer Picks Up Manchester Standout

South Euclid, OH – July 19, 2005 - Highly recruited Dan Rodgers of Manchester, England had the opportunity to select from among numerous American universities at various levels. After weighing the possibilities, he made Notre Dame College his final decision.

"I chose Notre Dame because of the challenges and excitement of studying in America while continuing the sport I love at a high standard," said Rodgers.

A product of Manchester Grammar, Rodgers has also represented Northern England Independent Schools. At center, left and right defense, he has been voted Player of the Season five times and has also served as vice captain of the team.

"He's a big, athletic defender," said Notre Dame assistant coach Carl Nolan. "He's an exceptional student as well."

Rodgers plans to major in business administration.
