Maryland Player Heads to NDC for Hoops

South Euclid, OH – July 27, 2005 - Kenny Burkes has the distinction of becoming the first player from Maryland to sign an NAIA Letter of Intent to play men's basketball at Notre Dame College.

The Riverdale Baptist High School graduate was a three-year varsity point guard at the Upper Marlboro, Maryland school. He averaged 11 points, three rebounds, seven assists and two steals per game for the 33-1 Crusaders.

The Honor Roll student earned the team's Hardest Worker Award.

"I chose Notre Dame because it seems like it has a nice family atmosphere," said Burkes, "And I liked the team and coaches."

Burkes plans to major in business management.
