Lakewood's Lewis Commits to NDC
South Euclid, OH – August 30, 2004 - Notre Dame College signed Lakewood High School graduate Derek Lewis to an NAIA Letter of Intent to play baseball for the Falcons. As a senior, Lewis spent time at second and third base and was also a pitcher with the Ranger staff. A member of the Northern Ohio Cardinals, he hit .419 and had a .979 fielding percentage this past summer. He also had an ERA of 1.75. With plans to major in business, Lewis will take part in Notre Dame's inaugural baseball season as the Falcons compete within the North Division of the American Mideast Conference, which is the largest NAIA conference in the nation.
